Our story
Batish Family Homes is a family business that builds homes across Melbourne. We started it to build homes we'd be happy to live in ourselves. From the first meeting, we tell you honestly what your home will cost and how long it will take.
We completed our first custom home, at Lucania Crescent, in 2024, and finished our Jagged Circuit home in 2026. We're currently building on Ladhams Way and Verday Boulevard.
We'd rather build fewer homes properly than chase volume.
Rakesh Batish, founder and builder
Rakesh started Batish Family Homes and oversees every build personally. He meets you on site at the start, prices the job, and is responsible for the work right through to handover.
Rakesh has also worked as a real estate agent, so he looks at a new home the way a buyer would. He can talk you through the block, orientation, layout and design choices with an eye to how the home will live and what it will be worth down the track.

How we work
You deal with the owner
No sales consultants or handoffs. The questions you ask at the first meeting are answered by the person who'll build your home.
Quality over volume
We keep the number of homes we take on small so every one gets proper attention on site.
Straight answers
We tell you what's realistic for your block, your budget and your timeline, including when the answer isn't what you hoped.
Engineering by VVT Engineering
Civil and structural engineering on our homes is done by VVT Engineering, led by Viney Batish. Having the engineer close to the builder means design questions on site are answered quickly.
Registration, insurance and membership
Batish Family Homes is a registered domestic builder with Victoria's Building and Plumbing Commission, registration CDB-U 101366, and a member of Master Builders Victoria, membership 600236. We hold domestic building insurance. Our ABN is 47 684 054 724.
